A huge thank you to Tony Bailey for an amazing Happy Drums session at Windrush Square in Brixton! With the sun shining down, the square came alive with the joyful beats of the drums. It was wonderful to see so many people join in, especially the children, who had a blast learning about the rich cultural traditions behind the rhythms.

This event has truly been a highlight of the summer for our staff and service users alike!

Exciting News: Summer Programme 2024 is Now Live!

We are thrilled to announce the official launch of our 2024 Summer Programme. Throughout the summer holidays, we will be offering weekly grocery supplies to families, organising group meals, and hosting a variety of engaging activities, including trips to the cinema and a ‘Happy Drums’ workshop.

This initiative is proudly supported by the London Community Foundation’s ‘Nourish the Nation’ fund, in partnership with Sainsbury’s and Comic Relief.

We understand that the summer holidays can bring financial strain for many families, with the increased costs of food and the challenge of keeping children entertained and active. Our programme aims to alleviate some of this pressure by reducing expenses for parents while offering young people the chance to enjoy fun and enriching experiences.

Alongside our trusted community partner, Dwaynamics, we are hosting a series of meetings in the community: The 'Lambeth Alliance for Community Action'. After a successful and well-attended initial meeting on 23 May, which saw community partners, stakeholders, residents and families meet together to have an open forum discussion on issues affecting the Lambeth community, including the upsurge in knife and gun violence and anti-social behaviour and second meeting is due to take place this evening, 10 July at 6PM at the Loughborough Park Community Centre.

Today's Alliance meeting will focus around discussions of recent incidents taking place in Streatham and allegations that have been made public against Lambeth's leadership.

Anyone affected by these issues or interested in joining the discussion is welcome to attend the meeting. More meeting dates will be announced in the near future, and if there are any items you would like added to the agenda, please send an email to info@options4change.org.uk

The Education Sustainment Project (ESP) aims to support students at risk of exclusion in the London Borough of Lambeth. By providing early intervention and ongoing support, the ESP helps keep pupils engaged in their education, enhancing their academic and social outcomes. The project offers mentoring, coaching, and workshops for both students and parents, promoting a collaborative approach to education and family welfare. Through the ESP, we strive to reduce school exclusions and improve the life chances of vulnerable young people in our community.

Do you or anyone you know need our help?

We are looking to expand our service delivery for the ESP, so are appealing for school and families to share our details and those of the ESP to parents and young people who you feel may benefit from our support!

Let them know they can contact us at info@options4change.org.uk or via phone on 020 3006 1018.

Please feel free to distribute our leaflet!

Our CEO Donna participated in two live televised interviews to discuss knife crime in the UK this week following the shocking events which took place in Hainault on 30 April. There is an epidemic of knife crime that urgently needs to be addressed, and Donna sat down with Sky News journalists for a discussion. Options 4 Change sees the situation as a national emergency which requires immediate attention through joint working and appropriate intervention. Watch the video above.

We would like to express our heartfelt condolences, our thoughts are with the family of Daniel Anjorin at this extremely difficult time.
